Shooting victim puts total killings at 308

The second of two men shot Thursday night in the Walbrook section of West Baltimore died from his wounds early yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, bringing 1999's total killings to 308, city police said.

Both men, who have not been identified, were shot about 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of W. North Ave. Police said a gunman fired once at one man, then several times at the second victim.

The first victim was pronounced dead Thursday night. Police said investigators knew of no suspects or motive.
