Holidays in Historic Frederick
Beginning with the "Kris Kringle Procession" tomorrow and ending with self-guided tours of houses of worship on Dec. 26, the holiday season in Frederick offers events for all tastes. Enjoy walking tours of candlelit homes in the historic district this weekend, and, for a nice diversion, attend the "Home for the Holidays Dance" Dec. 18, featuring retro orchestra Don Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra. Horse-drawn trolley rides will be offered through Dec. 19.
The Kris Kringle Procession starts at 6: 30 p.m. at Everedy Square. House tours are scheduled from 5: 30 p.m. to 9: 30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. `Holiday Sing-A-Long'
Join other joyful voices Sunday in a "Holiday Sing-A-Long" at Wolf Trap's Filene Center in Vienna, Va. Lt. Col. Timothy W. Foley will conduct the United States Marine Band in Christmas carols, Hanukkah songs and more. Audience members can bring bells to participate in a "Jing-A-Long" set to "Jingle Bells" and candles to light during a "Silent Night" procession.
The Filene Center is at 1551 Trap Road. Hours are 4 p.m.-5: 30 p.m. Admission is free. Come early to park or take free shuttle service beginning at 2 p.m. from West Falls Church station. Call 703-255-1900.
