COLLEGE PARK -- Chris Kelley threw for three touchdowns and ran for one, as Montgomery County's Seneca Valley captured its state-record 11th football title with a 41-0 win over Charles County's Thomas Stone in the Class 3A state final yesterday at Byrd Stadium.

It was the third straight title and sixth in the past eight years for the Screamin' Eagles (12-0).

Seneca Valley led from the outset, scoring 21 unanswered points in a span of 3: 59 in the first quarter on two touchdown passes from Kelley to Levar Scott and a 37-yard fumble return by David Cavell.

Kelley finished with 21 carries for 151 yards and completed eight of 15 passes for 124 yards.

Thomas Stone (11-1) failed to score despite twice driving inside Seneca Valley's 10 in the second half. (Summary, 18E)
