NCAA Div. III playoffs

Western Maryland (11-0) at Trinity (10-0)

Site: E.M. Stevens Stadium, San Antonio

Time: 1 p.m.

Radio: WTTR (1470 AM)

Series: Trinity leads 1-0

Outlook: The Green Terror has increased confidence after a 20-16 win over Catholic last weekend, its first victory in the NCAA Division III playoffs in three tries. But it is a banged-up team playing against a Trinity squad that last played two weeks ago (a 49-7 win over Millsaps) because of the first-round bye that goes to the top region seed. Both teams return most of the key players from last year's game, a 30-20 win by the Tigers. The Green Terror's ability to stop the Trinity offense is a key; equally interesting is the question of how Western Maryland's offense will fare against the Tigers, ranked in the top 10 nationally in every defensive category. In the absence of Joe Kendorski, it's up to freshman Jemel Johnson to provide a Green Terror running threat aside from Ron Sermarini.
