A Florida woman was in serious but stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday after a two-car collision Wednesday evening near Finksburg.

The accident occurred about 6 p.m. at Routes 91 (Gamber Road) and 879 (Old Gamber Road).

Maryland State Police at Westminster said Joshua Adam Ches, 17, of the 2000 block of Periwinkle Drive in Finksburg tried to make a left turn onto Route 91 from Route 879. He was cited for failing to stop and yield before entering the 50-mph road, according to the report.

The 1989 Dodge Omni driven by Ches entered the path of a 1989 Ford Taurus, being driven north by Donald Eugene Ford Sr., 60, of the 3800 block Beckleysville Road in Hampstead.

Francis Williams, 80, of Spring Hill, Fla., a passenger in the Taurus, was flown to the trauma center, where she was in serious but stable condition. Ches and another passenger in the Taurus, William Williams, 80, of Spring Hill were taken to Carroll County General Hospital. Their conditions were not available.
