Laugh yourself silly with Barry Louis Polisar Sunday at the Jewish Book Festival. The children's entertainer and author entertains kids and parents alike with songs, stories and poems. Well-known for songs including "My Brother Thinks He's a Banana" and "I Lost My Pants," Polisar also stars in his own nationally syndicated television show, "Field Trip." Sunday's program is geared to preschool-age children and up.

Barry Louis Polisar appears Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Jewish Book Festival at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave. $3 per child; free for parents. Call 410-356-5200, Ext. 324.

Tale spin

It's a storytelling celebration at "Tellabration!" Saturday in Towson. The evening of storytelling for all generations features more than 10 of the craftiest storytellers around, spinning tales and creatively reciting history. Stories will range from Celtic tales to Norse legends to Native-American stories. Storytellers will include Shindana Cooper, Kit Bloom, Beth Vaughan, Mark Rosenfeld and many others. The event is sponsored by the Baltimore Folk Music Society under the auspices of the National Storytellers Network.

The event takes place Saturday from 6: 45 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Woodbrook Baptist Church, 25 Stevenson Lane, Towson. Stories geared to younger children begin at 7 p.m. General storytelling begins at 8: 30 p.m. $20 families; $9 adults; $5 children. Discounts for BFMS members and groups. Call 410-366-0808.
