Winterfest of Lights in O.C.

Help kick off Ocean City's seventh annual Winterfest of Lights by attending a ceremonial tree lighting and celebration this evening at Northside Park. After listening to carolers, viewing performances by area school choruses and bands and meeting Santa, hop on a train for a 10-minute ride through Winterfest of Lights, a fantasy land of twinkling lights. Glittering scenes range from a sunbathing Santa to Jurassic Park. And throughout the resort town, thousands of twinkling lights will cover hundreds of displays.

The tree-lighting ceremony starts at 5 p.m. at Northside park, 127th Street and the bay. Winterfest of Lights sparkles from 5: 30 p.m. to 9: 30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5: 30 p.m. to 10: 30 p.m. Friday-Saturday through Jan. 2. Admission to tonight's ceremony is free; train rides are $2 for anyone 12 and older, free under 12. Call 410-289-2800 or 410-250-0125.
