Lincoln look-alike robs Ellicott City shop

November 07, 1999

Howard County police believe the armed man who disguises himself as Abraham Lincoln robbed a craft store in Ellicott City yesterday evening.

Crafts Plus in the 3300 block of Centennial Lane was robbed about 7 p.m. by a man wearing a fake beard. The man took an undetermined amount of money from the store's four registers, police said. Police, who call the robber "Dishonest Abe," believe the man has robbed at least 10 stores in the past seven months.
