Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northeastern District

Drug arrests: City and Baltimore County police raided several residences in the city and in the White Marsh area yesterday, arresting eight men on drug possession and distribution charges, and seizing $10,000, handguns and 10 ounces of cocaine valued at $28,000. Sgt. William Sekinger of the district's drug enforcement unit said two of those arrested, Lawrence Darien, 28, of the 7400 block of Kimbark Circle in Rosedale and Damion Gatling, 26, of the 4000 block of Marjeff Court in Overlea, also were charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws. Police said a ring had been distributing cocaine for at least three months in the Freedom-Clairmont public housing complex in Northeast Baltimore. The eight men were processed at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Shooting: A man was shot about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of a house in the 3800 block of Kimble Road and was in stable condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made, and police knew of no motive.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A boy, 15, was riding a mo-ped in the 400 block of S. Beechfield Ave. about 10: 20 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman shot him in the leg. He was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Southern District

Theft of service: A resident of the 300 block of S. Payson St. is accused of tapping into the electrical system of his neighbor and using her current after his was turned off by Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. The woman became suspicious when her fuses blew when she turned on her microwave oven and other appliances. On the roof of the woman's house, BGE workers and police found where someone had spliced into her power line.

Theft from vehicle: Stereo radio equipment valued at more than $2,000 was stolen Tuesday from a 1991 Ford convertible parked in the 1100 block of Inner Circle in Brooklyn. The convertible top, valued at more than $2,000, was cut to gain entry.

Eastern District

Robbery: A gunman robbed a man, 61, of $70 about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of N. Linwood Ave.

Theft: A tractor-trailer with tags 372 F61 and containing cosmetics of unknown value was stolen between Saturday and Monday in the 3200 block of E. Biddle St.

Northern District

Stolen car: A 1997 Pontiac van with tags M206848 was stolen Tuesday in the 5200 block of St. Georges Ave.

Theft from vehicles: A cellular telephone valued at $200 was stolen from a 1995 Land Rover and nearly $700 worth of electronic equipment from another vehicle Tuesday in the 4100 block of Greenway.

Baltimore County

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Clothing of unknown value was stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1700 block of Edgewood Road.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and $250 were stolen Monday from a house in the first block of Solar Circle.
