Chicago (3-4) at Washington (4-2)

Time: 1 p.m., Ch. 5.

Line: Redskins by 8 1/2.

Vs. spread: Bears 6-1; Redskins 3-3.

Last week: Bears lost to Bucs, 6-3. Redskins lost to Cowboys, 38-20.

Series: Bears lead 18-14-1.

Last meeting: Redskins won, 31-8, on Nov. 2, 1997, at Chicago.

Outlook: The Redskins hit a speed bump last week in Dallas, but they should get back on track against the reeling Bears. Even Washington's woeful defense should be able to control a Chicago offense that produced three points last week. Things got so bad for the Bears against Tampa that rookie QB Cade McNown, starting in place of injured Shane Matthews, was benched late in the third quarter for Jim Miller. If McNown starts again today, he'll need a fast start to avoid a quick hook.

Notable: Bears are fourth in the NFL in red-zone defense, having allowed five TDs in 18 possessions.
