Keys to a Redskins victory

October 31, 1999|By Jamison Hensley

1 Maintain focus. The Redskins have had their most distracting week of the year, and a loss to the Bears could trigger a tailspin.

2 Hold onto the ball. The Bears have forced an NFL-best 13 fumbles, and Redskins running back Stephen Davis has had a habit of coughing up the ball.

3 Take a stand in the red zone. The Redskins have allowed 15 touchdowns in 20 possessions inside their 20-yard line. Chicago has only 11 touchdowns on offense in seven games.
