25 years ago: The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company is alerting local residents to the danger of fire over the Halloween period due to the flammable character of many costumes and decorations. This danger is far more scary than any monster or "goblin" and flaming clothing and furnishings can create a holocaust which will turn jollification quickly into a terrible tragedy. -- the Community Reporter, Oct. 25, 1974.
