Two officers were injured last night when their patrol cars collided in East Baltimore while responding to an unfounded call about an armed man, police said.

Officer Nate Roles was southbound in the 1000 block of N. Chester St. and Officer Craig Klein eastbound in the 2000 block of E. Eager St. when they collided at the intersection about 7: 26 p.m., said Agent Ragina L. Cooper, a police spokeswoman. One of the cars struck a house where two men were sitting on the steps.

Roles was treated for a head laceration and Klein for abdominal injuries, both at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Cooper said. The civilians were examined at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
