Field hockey championship

No. 2 Severna Park (12-2) vs. No. 10 Chesapeake (11-2-1)

Where: Chesapeake High

When: 7 p.m.

Outlook: The Falcons, who have won 20 of the 21 county championships, will chase after their 14th straight tonight.

The teams met on Tuesday with junior Nicki Barnes scoring late in the first half to give the Falcons a 1-0 win. Barnes' goal, her 15th of the season to go with eight assists, ended a 10-game shutout string by the Cougars' stingy defense. Erin Shaklee (county-leading 16 goals and 18 assists) and Kristen Burke (15 goals, two assists) join Barnes to give the Falcons the county's most explosive offense.

But in the Cougars' 10-game shutout streak, they outscored their opponents, 28-0. Jen Franklin leads Chesapeake's offense with 12 goals and five assists.

Last season, the Falcons beat Arundel, 5-0, in the championship game.
