Greenway group gets $2,500 to help Patapsco Valley

The Maryland Alliance for Greenway Improvement and Conservation has received a $2,500 grant from the Sierra Club Foundation to help protect the South Fork of the Patapsco River Valley from Sykesville to its headwaters at Parrs Spring.

The alliance hopes to encourage homeowners along this portion of the Patapsco to help provide permanent protection for the river and its wildlife.

Eventually, alliance members would like to see a wildlife corridor established between the Patuxent River Valley and the Patapsco River Valley.
