Brewers: Named Gary Hansen minor-league pitching coordinator.

Reds: Added P Pat Flury, P John Riedling and 1B D. T. Cromer to 40-man roster. Promoted Terry Abbott to area scouting supervisor. Named Butch Baccala special assignment scout.

Tigers: Sent IF Jason Wood, IF Jose Macias and P Beiker Graterol outright to Triple-A Toledo.

Basketball

NBA: Named Mike Bantom VP and group manager, player and basketball development.

USA Basketball: G Cynthia Cooper, a two-time Olympian, withdrew from 1999-2000 women's senior national team, saying she is unable to fully participate in training camp.

Kings: Waived C-F Tywan Sanford and G Keith Veney.

College

ACC: Named Maryland DE Erwyn Lyght Lineman of the Week and Maryland K Brian Kopka Specialist of the Week. Suspended officiating crew that worked Clemson-North Carolina State football game -- James Knight, Frank Overcash, Mike Looney, Bill Wampler, Rick Page and Virgil Valdez -- for game management errors.

Conference USA: Will add Texas Christian as member in all sports for 2001-02, East Carolina as member in all sports for 2001-02 and South Florida in football starting in the 2003.

Football

Bengals: Activated OT Jamain Stephens. Waived LB Jimmy Sprotte.

Colts: Terminated contract of LB Andre Royal for violation of team policy.
