Schlossman and Smith take posts at BIC

Baltimore International College appointed Mark Schlossman purchasing director and Scott J. Smith a senior accountant for the culinary arts and hospitality trades school.

Schlossman, a University of Maryland graduate and Annapolis resident, formerly was an assistant purchasing director with the Charlestown Retirement Community. Smith, a certified public accountant, also graduated from the University of Maryland and was acting general ledgers manager for U.S. Foodservice Corp. He lives in Glen Burnie.

Gilden names Jesse Emge technical services director

Gilden Advertising named Jesse D. Emge director of technical services for the Roland Park advertising and design agency. A Towson resident, he oversees the technical aspects of the firm's Internet marketing. He formerly was a microcomputer services specialist for the Johns Hopkins University.

Banking and finance

Potomac Asset appoints Kendall as principal, officer

Potomac Asset Management, a Bethesda investment advisory firm, appointed Clark Kendall as a principal and senior investment officer. Kendall, a graduate of James Madison University, formerly was vice president and portfolio manager for Rothschild/Pell Rudman.

A chartered financial analyst and certified financial planner, he is a member of the Olney Lions Club and is active with the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council and the Market Technicians Association.

Legal and insurance

Michael J. Finifter joins Scaldara & Potler

Scaldara & Potler LLP added Michael J. Finifter to the staff of the Baltimore law firm. He is concentrating on estates and trusts, tax planning and commercial transactions. A master of laws graduate of the University of Baltimore, the Owings Mills resident is a certified public accountant, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and an adjunct professor for the UB graduate tax program.

Health care

Joyce Weller vice president for patient care at Church

Church Hospital named Joyce A. Weller vice president of patient care. As chief nursing executive, she oversees nursing functions and coordinates patient care.

The Towson resident graduated from the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing and has a graduate degree in psychology from the University of Baltimore.

Lifebridge names Seidman planning, development chief

Lifebridge Health named Cindy Seidman as manager of planning and development. She is responsible for research as well as strategic and tactical planning of programs and services for the Baltimore regional health care organization.

Formerly a planning analyst with Bon Secours Health System, she received a graduate degree in health care administration from Johns Hopkins University.

Commercial real estate

KLNB names Horelick director of finance

KLNB Inc. named Arlene Horelick director of finance for the Towson-based commercial real estate brokerage firm. She oversees the firm's financial functions and accounting staff activities.

A Towson University graduate and certified public accountant, the Owings Mills resident was formerly with the Rouse Co.
