Outlook: Former 49ers coach George Seifert earned his first victory with Carolina last week, but that was against Cincinnati. Seifert and the Panthers return to reality this week when they face the NFL's hottest offense. The Redskins have scored a league-high 112 points -- no other team has scored more than 86. QB Brad Johnson is the league's highest-rated passer at 114.2, with no interceptions. RB Stephen Davis leads the league in rushing with 328 yards and has eight rushing TDs.

Notable: Panthers RB Tshimanga Biakabutuka had 174 yards from scrimmage and two TDs in the last meeting against the Redskins.
