Blue Jays: Outfielder Shannon Stewart missed his sixth straight game with a right ankle injury and may not play again this season. Tony Fernandez returned to the lineup after missing Sunday's game with a sore right knee.

Devil Rays: Jose Canseco has three homers and 23 RBIs in 28 games since his return from back surgery. Infielder Tony Graffanino missed the game with a mild hamstring injury.

Royals: Carlos Beltran needs nine hits in his final five games to become the fourth rookie in history to collect 200 hits, 100 RBIs and 100 runs. The other three are Dale Alexander (Tigers, 1929), Hal Trosky (Indians, 1934) and Joe DiMaggio (Yankees, 1936). Kansas City has three players with at least 100 RBIs (Jermaine Dye, 115; Beltran, 105; and Mike Sweeney, 101) and two players with at least 100 runs (Beltran, 110; and Johnny Damon, 100). Sweeney has scored 99.

Tigers: After playing in front of 43,356 fans in the final game at Tiger Stadium on Monday, Detroit played in front of 11,875 at the Metrodome.
