Keys to a Ravens victory

September 26, 1999|By Mike Preston

1 Protect the ball. It's unlikely the Browns will be able to move the ball to get good field position, except on turnovers by the Ravens. Cleveland has the worst offense in the NFL.

2 Be aggressive, which means blitzing and punishing rookie QB Tim Couch early. The Ravens' cornerbacks also need to press up on the receivers at the line of scrimmage.

3 Score early. The longer a team stays around, the more confidence it gains. The Ravens need to take away the Browns' will to survive early.
