C. Milton Wright defeats Bel Air in straight games

North gives Mustangs proven setter they need

C. Milton Wright coach Kim Mayforth got what she was looking for in Hayley North this season. The junior had just moved to Harford County from Clemson, S.C.,, and wanted to play volleyball.

Mayforth felt like the Mustangs were lacking a proven setter. She found one in North, who directed visiting C.M. Wright (5-0) to a 15-3, 15-5, 15-9 victory over Bel Air last night in a Harford County volleyball match.

The Bobcats got close in the third game, using key blocks by sophomore Megan Arnold to tie the score at six. North, however, either set up or served six of the Mustangs' final nine points in a 15-9 victory.

Mayforth says North is a big reason the Mustangs are off to such a good start.

"She's a great asset to the team," said Mayforth. "She bonded almost immediately with her teammates, and she picks things up very quickly. She's one of our leaders out there."
