Health agency announces food vendor violations

September 23, 1999

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health briefly closed Southwest Concessions at 4991 Fairview Ave. in Linthicum recently because of a sewage overflow.

It was the only closing from Sept. 1 through Sept. 15, when inspectors visited 124 restaurants and other food-service facilities.

Nineteen were cited for critical food safety item violations, four of them for multiple violations, which were immediately corrected.

Dragon House at 101 Mayor Road in Edgewater was cited for not properly cooling food and cross-contaminating ready-to-serve food.

The Royal Farm Store at 7843 Telegraph Road in Severn was cited for not holding food at the proper temperature and for adulterated or spoiled food.

The Everything Yogurt & Salad Cafe at 174 Annapolis Mall in Annapolis was faulted for food workers not practicing effective hand-washing and not holding food at the proper temperature.
