Maryland chamber sets second Vision Series

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce will hold its second Vision Series from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sept. 29 at Goldwell Cosmetics' main auditorium, 981 Corporate Blvd. in Linthicum Heights.

A panel of executives representing Bell Atlantic, Legg Mason, Wood Walker Inc. and Northrop Grumman will discuss how their companies benefit from participating in mentor programs. The panel will provide a forum for business leaders to learn about effective involvement in programs linking education to the workplace.

Provident Bank gets branch in Severn supermarket

Provident Bank of Maryland recently opened a branch in the Severn Metro at 7858 Quarterfield Road.

Bank hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. It is Provident's 20th in-store branch and 11th branch in a Metro store.

Workshop on starting a business is tomorrow

SCORE Chapter 390 will conduct a one-day workshop on "How to Start and Manage Your Own Business" from 8: 45 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow on the first floor of the Heritage Office Complex, 2660 Riva Road, Training Center Room, Annapolis.

Chamber Power Breakfast set for YMCA Camp Letts

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber will hold its monthly Power Breakfast from 7: 30 a.m. to 9: 30 a.m. Wednesdayat YMCA Camp Letts, 4003 Camp Letts Road, Edgewater.

Chamber begins series of three marketing classes

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will offer a series of classes, "Getting the Competitive Edge -- Three Ways to Market Your Business," from 11: 45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 and Nov. 30 at the chamber of commerce, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, in Laurel.

The first class will cover "Concept to Paper: Designing the Corporate Look"; the second class, "Paper to Product: Utilizing the Corporate Look"; the last class, "Product to Press: Playing the Corporate Name Game."

Each session costs $10, or $25 for all three sessions.
