Next weekend, eight children's authors and illustrators will read from and sign their books at the Baltimore Book Festival in Mount Vernon Place.

Other activities include workshops, puppet shows and storytelling.

Saturday's lineup includes:

Noon: James Howe, author of "Bunnicula Strikes Again."

2 p.m. : author Pamela Duncan Edwards and illustrator Henry Cole, creators of "The Worrywarts."

At 4 p.m., author Monalisa DeGross and illustrator Floyd Cooper, creators of "My Granddaddy's Street Songs."

Sunday's lineup includes:

Noon, award-winning illustrator James Ransome, "Dark Day & Light Night."

1 p.m., Ashley Wolff, author and illustrator of "Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten."

4 p.m., Hilary Hyland, author of "The Secret of Ethie."
