Blast host to Crunch 3 times this season

September 15, 1999|By Brent Jones

The Blast yesterday released its 1999-2000 regular-season schedule, which features three home games against the Cleveland Crunch, last season's National Professional Soccer League champion, and four home games each against its division rivals, the Philadelphia Kixx and Harrisburg Heat.

The Blast kicks off the season with a home-and-home series against the Kixx on Oct. 22-23. Its longest home stretch of the season will be Feb. 12-26, with a free concert by the Christian rock group All Star United after the Feb. 18 game against Montreal.

The Blast finished 19-21 last season. For this season's playoffs, berths will go to each division champion and the two teams with the next-best records in each six-team conference.
