The blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police reports.

Clarksville

Cherry Tree Drive: 7400 block. Someone entered a home about 5 p.m. Sept. 7 and stole thousands of dollars in jewelry.

East Columbia

Stevens Forest Road: 5800 block, Oakland Mills. A man approached two people standing outside a store lot at 9 p.m. Sept. 4 and asked them for drugs. After they said they did not have any, the man forced them to the ground and stole $100 and a pager.

Oakland Mills Road: 5500 block, Oakland Mills. Someone entered a residence between 6 p.m. Aug. 28 and 4 p.m. Sept. 4 and stole a stereo, crystal ware and silverware. There was no sign of forced entry.

Polished Stone: 9700 block, Kings Contrivance. Someone entered a home between midnight and 7: 30 a.m. Sept. 7 through an unlocked garage door and stole $50 and a bicycle.

Dark Hawk Circle: 8500 block, Long Reach. Someone entered an unlocked garage between 11 p.m. Sept. 4 and 7 a.m. Sept. 5 and stole food, change and a mailbox key.

Bellwart Way: 9000 block. Someone cut a window screen about 2 p.m. Saturday and attempted to enter the home.

West Columbia

Sterrett Place: 5500 block, Columbia. Someone entered the Rouse Co. at 8 a.m. Sept. 3 by breaking glass, ransacked an office and stole a desktop radio.

Blue February Way: 11800 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone tried to pry open a screen on a sliding door about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Turnabout Lane: 5900 block, Harper's Choice. A man approached someone walking from a liquor store, displayed a knife and demanded money at 11 p.m. Saturday. When the victim said he did not have any money and ran, the robber chased him and was arrested.

Sunny Spring: 6100 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone entered an open garage about 3 p.m. Friday and stole a bicycle.

Pasture Gate Lane: 10100 block, Wilde Lake. Vacationers returned to their home at 2 p.m. Saturday and discovered that someone removed a combination lock and stole a bicycle and canoe.

Twin Rivers Road: 10500 block, Wilde Lake. Someone entered a home between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday and stole an electric razor and $30. There was no sign of forced entry.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

North Farm Road: 2500 block, Ellicott City. Someone smashed a door window pane about 10 a.m. Sept. 6 and unlocked the door at the residence.

Waterloo Road: 6400 block, Elkridge. Someone entered a residence through the first-floor bedroom window between Sept. 2 and 11 p.m. Monday and stole two computers, a videocassette recorder, stereo equipment, a fax machine and credit cards.

Claire Drive: 6000 block, Elkridge. Someone entered a home about 6 p.m. Sept. 6 by removing a rear sliding door off its tracks and stole a car engine.

Furnace Ave.: 5600 block, Elkridge. A homeowner returned at 1 a.m. Sept. 7 and discovered that his garage door and side door were pried open. A tool box, tools and an electric drill were stolen.

Washington Blvd: 7200 block, Elkridge. Someone pulled a board off a Kaufman Funeral Home maintenance shed between 8 p.m. Sept. 3 and 8: 30 a.m. Sept. 5. Nothing was taken.

Montgomery Road: 7000 block, Elkridge. Someone entered Elkridge Elementary School overnight Friday and stole stereo equipment.

Montgomery Road: 7200 block, Elkridge. Someone entered a home through the front door and stole jewelry and $233.

Jessup

Assateague Drive: 7400 block. A man held up two acquaintences at knife-point and demanded money at 2: 30 a.m. Sept. 6. The robber cut one of the victims in the neck and back and stole $80. The victim refused medical treatment.

Assateague Drive: 7400 block. Someone approached a man entering his truck at 6 a.m. Sept. 5, displayed a handgun and demanded his money. The robber took about $20.

Washington Blvd: 8200 block. Someone broke the lock off the rear door of a trailer between midnight Sept. 5 and 7: 30 a.m. Tuesday and ransacked furniture.

Montevideo Road: 7100 block. Someone broke into a construction trailer by cutting a padlock and bolt from a door between 5 p.m. Sept. 4 and 7: 30 a.m. Sept. 7 and stole two grinders, an impact wrench and a saw.

North Laurel/Savage

Tumbleweed Run: 9100 block, North Laurel. A man's estranged wife entered the residence between 4 p.m. Sept. 4 and 3: 30 a.m. Sept. 5 and stole a computer. There was no sign of forced entry.

Baltimore St.: 9000 block, Savage. A man entered WaWa Food Markets at 4 a.m. Sept. 6, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The robber stole cash and two cartons of cigarettes.

Whiskey Bottom Road: 9600 block, North Laurel. A homeowner discovered that his vacant house was ransacked and vandalized at 11 p.m. Sept. 7. A vandal entered through a basement, destroyed property and spray-painted two junked cars in the back yard.

Western Howard

Velvet Valley Drive: 3300 block, West Friendship. Someone broke into a house under construction by prying a window between 5 p.m. Sept. 3 and 10 a.m. Sept. 6 and stole a microwave oven, a washer and dryer and tools.

Frederick Road: 15300 block, Lisbon. Two suspects were arrested and charged with stealing two motorcycles from a garage at 4 a.m. Saturday.
