1998 Husch Sauvignon Blanc, Mendocino County...

1998 Husch Sauvignon Blanc, Mendocino County ($11.50).

Fresh and sprightly, this rounded, soft white wine showed impressive length on the palate and flavor intensity. It steers a middle course between the oaky, chardonnaylike style of sauvignon blanc and the overtly herbaceous style of a Dry Creek fume blanc. While it is a fruity wine, with ample pear flavor, it is quite dry and should match up well with most fish dishes.
