Astros: Mostly because of closer Billy Wagner, Houston is 70-0 when leading after eight innings. The Astros lead the major leagues in stolen bases with 148.

Pirates: Kevin Young, who has 40 doubles, is the first Pittsburgh player with consecutive 40-double seasons since Hall of Famer Paul Waner in 1928-29. Brian Giles went 2-for-2 against the Padres' Woody Williams after going 1-for-13 against him while both were in the AL. It was Giles' first four-hit game of the season.
