September 08, 1999

A California man was arrested yesterday on charges of sexually abusing an 8-year-old Manchester girl between June 1998 and June 1999, court documents showed.

The 63-year-old man was ordered held at the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail, court records showed.

The names of the suspect and the girl are not being reported because of her age and the nature of the alleged offenses.

The man was charged with child abuse and second-, third-, and fourth-degree sexual offenses and ordered not to leave the state if he makes bail, according to court documents.
