A sweet plunge for chocolate fans

Take the plunge -- the Creamy Chocolate Plunge, that is. Hershey Foods has come up with an easy dip recipe for on-the-go families. Stir together 1 jar (7-ounces) marshmallow creme and 1 1/2 cups Hershey's Syrup in a medium bowl until well-blended. Assemble dippers, like fresh strawberries, bananas, apples, seedless grapes and cubes of poundcake, and dig in. Store leftover dip, well-covered, in the fridge.

Week that adds up to good health

The National Cancer Institute is urging everyone to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables, and do 30 or more minutes of daily physical activity during National 5 A Day Week, Sunday to Sept. 18. For information on nutrition, visit www.5aday.gov.

Before you set sail ...

Ahoy, boaters. Tom and Cathy Anton of the Well-Stocked Galley will provide provisions for boats in the Annapolis area. In addition to favorite foods, a list of wine, beer and spirits also is available. If you're a landlubber, they'll create nautical gift baskets for you or boating friends. A popular one is the Margarita Basket ($75 and $135) with drink ingredients and a Jimmy Buffet compact disc. For information, call 410-216-9546. --
