Athletics: With its 75th win, Oakland exceeded its total of last season.

Devil Rays: Miguel Cairo entered as a pinch hitter in the seventh and went 0-for-2, ending his career-high 12 game hitting streak.

Mariners: Reliever Butch Henry made his first appearance since April 29. Henry was on the DL with a torn left labrum. Ken Griffey is 0-for-12 against Pedro Martinez.

Rangers: Texas has 196 homers, third-most in club history. The team record of 221 was set in 1996.

Tigers: Detroit has at least one extra-base hit in 59 straight games since June 26. Dean Palmer has 26 homers and 69 RBIs in his past 93 games.

Twins: First baseman Doug Mientkiewicz reached base in seven straight plate appearances to open the series, then popped out in the ninth inning. He had five hits, a walk and was hit by a pitch.
