An article about Maryland's budget surplus in yesterday's editions of The Sun said that about $30 million in unanticipated state revenue came from investments in the stock market. The state invests its nonpension assets in certificates of deposit, money market funds, repurchase agreements and federal obligations.

The Sun regrets the errors.
