The blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police reports.

Clarksville

Hall Shop Road: 12000 block. Someone stole landscaping equipment between 7 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday from Green Scape Inc.'s freight storage area.

East Columbia

Guilford Road: 9500 block. An intruder stole an inoperable Honda dirt bike between 9 p.m. and 9: 30 p.m. Aug. 24 from an open garage.

Wooded Run Drive: 6100 block. Someone broke into a garage at 6 a.m. Aug. 25 and stole a bicycle.

Thunder Hill Road: 5100 block, Long Reach. Someone entered the neighborhood center and stole a television at 8 a.m. Aug. 24. The TV was later dropped.

Tides Ebb Court: 8800 block, Long Reach. Someone entered an open garage between 11 p.m. Aug. 23 and 8 a.m. Aug. 24 and stole 20 cans of beer.

Phelps Luck Drive: Someone threw a cement block into a sliding glass door at 4 a.m. Thursday and stole a purse that had been visible through the door. A key to the resident's vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, was found in the car's ignition. The key usually was kept in the glove compartment.

Stevens Forest Road: 5800 block, Oakland Mills. Three men approached a couple walking in the village center at 8 p.m. Friday, displayed a handgun, forced them to the ground and emptied their pockets and purse. The men stole $40 and a pager.

Knighthood Lane: 6900 block, Owen Brown. Three men threw rocks at a homeowner's window at midnight Sunday. When he came outside, they told him to move to a darker area, forced him to the ground and emptied his pockets, stealing $30 from his wallet.

Tamar Drive: 8900 block, Long Reach. An intruder entered an apartment between midnight and 6: 30 a.m. Sunday and stole money and compact discs.

Dobbin Center Way: 6400 block. Someone triggered a store alarm at Goodyear Tire Center at 11 p.m. Friday by smashing the front glass door. Apparently nothing was taken.

West Columbia

Little Patuxent Parkway: 10300 block, Hickory Ridge. Someone entered Spencer's Gifts at The Mall in Columbia at 6 p.m. Thursday and made a purchase. Afterward, he stole an undetermined amount of money from the store.

Blue Heron Lane/Green Mountain Circle: cle: Wilde Lake. A cab driver picked up two female passengers at the Banneker Exxon station at 8 p.m. Sunday and was told to go to Blue Heron Lane. When they arrived, a man approached the cab, displayed a handgun and stole $40. The two passengers and the gunman fled on foot.

Cottonwood Way: 10700 block. A homeowner discovered at 6 p.m. Monday that a rear basement window had been broken. Nothing was taken.

Ellicott City

Webbed Foot Way: 4900 block. Someone known to the homeowner broke in at 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and stole items. The items were returned.

Mount Ida Drive: 3600 block. Someone entered a home between 6 p.m. Saturday and 10: 30 a.m. Sunday and stole a credit card and cash.

Old Annapolis Road: 9500 block. Someone triggered a house alarm at 4 a.m. Saturday by manipulating the front door. Apparently nothing was taken.

Western Howard

Frederick Road: 16100 block, Mount Airy. Sometime overnight Friday, someone attempted to pry open the front door of Lisbon Family Medical Center.

Frederick Road: 16100 block, Mount Airy. Sometime overnight Friday, someone attempted to pry open the front door at Anderberg's Dentist Office. An alarm was activated at 1 a.m. Saturday.

East Watersville Road: 700 block, Mount Airy. Someone entered a locked garage without using force between 5: 30 p.m. and midnight Monday and stole power tools and a welder.
