Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northeastern District

Shooting: A man, 21, was walking with friends in the 4200 block of Belair Road about 1: 30 a.m. yesterday when a man engaged him in a brief conversation, then pulled a handgun and shot him in the right leg. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Southeastern District

Shooting: A woman, 25, sitting in the back seat of a car parked in the 200 block of S. Herring Court was shot in the face about 10: 40 p.m. Monday when a man fired several shots into the vehicle. The driver sped off and stopped at a gas station in the 1300 block of E. Fayette St., where he flagged down a police officer. The woman was in good condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. It was not known if she was the gunman's intended target.

Eastern District

Robbery: A man, 39, was at Old Town Mall in the 400 block of N. Gay St. on Tuesday evening when someone approached from behind, knocked him to the pavement and robbed him of his Royce-Union mountain bicycle, cellular telephone, pager, backpack and cash, all valued at about $230. The man walked to the home of his girlfriend, who drove him to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment of lacerations.

Shooting: A man was standing in front of a house in the 1800 block of E. Eager St. about 9 p.m. Tuesday when another man shot him. He was admitted in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Robbery/arrest: A man, 26, was in the 1100 block of E. North Ave. about 2: 40 p.m. Monday when a gunman robbed him of nearly $200. As police drove the victim around the area, a man matching the description of the robber was arrested. Kevin Lee Whitfield, 26, of the 2000 block of Homewood Ave. was charged with armed robbery. Police said the gun used in the robbery and the money were not recovered.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 2400 block of E. Madison St. between Aug. 17 and Tuesday and stole an air conditioner, dining room set, television, two videocassette recorders, food, love seat and an inflatable swimming pool.

Southwestern District

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man, 31, of a gold chain with charm, his boots and a pager about 9: 15 p.m. Tuesday in the 4300 block of Odell Terrace. The property was valued at nearly $2,000.

Burglary: A television, videocassette recorder, Caller ID and a boom-box stereo radio, all valued at $800, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 200 block of S. Augusta Ave.

Southern District

Theft: A camcorder, combination radio/cassette player and a 35 mm camera, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Monday from a house in the 1200 block of Glyndon Ave. The victim knew the thief.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery: After asking for a pack of cigarettes about 6: 10 p.m. Tuesday at the High's store in the 8700 block of Philadelphia Road, a man pulled a handgun, threatened to shoot the clerk and stole $80. He got into a gray compact car occupied by another man and escaped.

Towson Precinct

Armed robbery: A gunman robbed High's dairy store in the 8400 block of Oakleigh Road of $50 and 15 packs of cigarettes, all valued at nearly $100, about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Two mountain bicycles valued at more than $1,000 were stolen from a garage in the 1200 block of Brookview Road between Sunday and Tuesday.
