Walter Payton of the Chicago Bears ran for 275 yards against the Minnesota Vikings on November 20, 1977. Walter carried the ball 40 times.

Walter is also the NFL's career rushing leader. He ran the ball 3,838 times for 16,726 yards from 1975 to 1987. Walter is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
