County court convicts man for his role in robbery

A Carroll County judge found Leroy Michael Buccini, 25, of Reisterstown, guilty yesterday of conspiracy to commit robbery in the theft of $200 from Sally Beauty Supply at the Cranberry Square shopping center.

Buccini was sentenced to 18 months in the Carroll County Detention Center, where he has been detained since Westminster police arrested him after the incident Feb. 5.

Circuit Judge Luke K. Burns Jr. suspended all but 18 months of a five-year sentence. At the end of the 18-month period, retroactive to Feb. 5, Buccini will begin three years of unsupervised probation.

In the robbery in February, Buccini was riding in the back seat of a car with two other suspects, who also were arrested in the incident.

Westminster church sponsors peach festival St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Westminster will hold a peach festival beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday on the church grounds.

The Alesia Band will perform, and an old-fashioned hymn sing will be at 8: 15 p.m. in the church.

Westminster: Firefighters from Westminster and Reese responded at 7: 55 p.m. Sunday to a house fire in the 100 block of South Ralph St. Units were out 35 minutes.
