Technology Advisory Board recruiting 3-year volunteers

The county commissioners are seeking volunteers to serve on the Carroll County Technology Advisory Board.

The board is composed of five residents with extensive professional experience in information technology and telecommunications. Members advise the commissioners and affiliated agencies on technology issues.

Candidates should have a broad base of knowledge in several of these areas: computer architectures, network topologies, wireless computing, telecommunications (wired and wireless), past and current technology trends, and strategic technology/telecommunications planning.

Board members will learn about the county's technology infrastructure by assisting in telecommunications and technology planning, and by advising the commissioners and technology consortium.

The board meets one evening a month and holds occasional work sessions. Appointments are for three years.

Candidates should submit a letter of interest with a resume, and should demonstrate that they have no professional conflicts of interest with the board.

Resumes should be submitted to the county commissioners' office by Sept. 8.
