Winner's share: $468,000.

TV: USA (today-tomorrow, 4-6 p.m.) and CBS (Saturday, 4-6 p.m.; Sunday, 3-6 p.m.)

Last year: Vijay Singh won, finishing with 47 points under the modified Stableford system.

Last week: Tiger Woods won his second major, the PGA Championship in Medinah, Ill. Woods held on for a one-stroke victory over Sergio Garcia. Mike Weir, who started the final round tied with Woods, shot an 80 and finished eight strokes back.

Notes: Under the modified Stableford system, players receive 8 points for a double eagle, 5 for an eagle, 2 for a birdie, 0 for par, minus-1 for a bogey and minus-3 for a double bogey or worse.

LPGA Tour

LPGA Classic

Site: Beavercreek, Ohio.

Schedule: Tomorrow-Sunday.

Course: Country Club of the North (6,302 yards, par 72).

Purse: $650,000.

Winner's share: $97,500.

TV: None.

Last year: Meg Mallon won, parring the first hole of a playoff with Dottie Pepper. Mallon closed with a 4-under 68 to match Pepper at 17-under 199.

Last week: Sherri Steinhauer won her second consecutive Women's British Open. Steinhauer defeated Annika Sorenstam by one stroke.

Notes: Last week, Karrie Webb finished 1-over-par and outside the top 10 for just the second time this season.

Senior PGA Tour

BankBoston Classic

Site: Concord, Mass.

Schedule: Tomorrow-Sunday.

Course: Nashawtuc Country Club (6,787 yards, par 72).

Purse: $1.2 million.

Winner's share: $180,000.

TV: ESPN (tomorrow, 1-3 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 5: 30-7 p.m.)

Last year: Hale Irwin successfully defended his title, with a 15-under 201 total for a two-stroke victory over Jay Sigel.

Last week: Christy O'Connor won his second tournament of the year.

USGA U.S. Amateur Championship

Site: Pebble Beach, Calif.

Schedule: Through Sunday.

Course: Pebble Beach Golf Links (6,828 yards, par 71) and Spyglass Hill Golf Club (6,828 yards, par 72).

TV: ESPN (today-tomorrow, 3-6 p.m.) and NBC (Saturday, 4-6 p.m.; Sunday, 4: 30-6: 30 p.m.).

Last year: Hank Kuehne, 23, defeated Tom McKnight, 45, 2 and 1, at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
