Families sue neighbor over debris in yard

August 12, 1999

Three Ellicott City families are suing their neighbor, alleging that he violated the Mount Hebron neighborhood's covenants by cutting tree branches and uprooting shrubs on his property and leaving the debris in his yard.

The neighbors are suing Peter O. McCahey of the 2300 block of Mount Hebron Drive in Howard County Circuit Court. McCahey could not be reached for comment.

The suit also claims that McCahey does not mow part of his yard and has left piles of plant debris and other material on his property. McCahey's land has become an "eyesore" and has hurt neighboring property values, the suit says.
