Athletics: Oakland has hit 41 homers in July, tops in the American League. Oakland has held a lead in every game since the All-Star break. Ben Grieve has walked at least once in each of the past nine games.

Devil Rays: Fred McGriff was kept out of the starting lineup for a second straight game with soreness in his left quadriceps. Wade Boggs needs one double to break a tie with Charlie Gehringer for 12th place all-time. Tony Graffanino's RBI was his first in the majors since Sept. 7, 1998 as a member of the Braves.

Indians: Outfielder/DH David Justice had the hard cast removed from his left wrist but missed his sixth straight game. Kenny Lofton missed his third in a row with a strained right hamstring.
