Glen Burnie Carnival

For spine-tingling rides, lip-smacking treats and a chance to try your luck at winning a prize on the Midway, come to the Big Glen Burnie Carnival tomorrow through Aug. 7 at Crain Highway and First Avenue, off Ritchie Highway. A favorite family event since 1908, the carnival features more than 20 rides and dozens of games. Hours are 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday. Jewel at Merriweather

Monopoly Tournament

Harford County Farm Fair

For an old-fashioned fair complete with 4-H exhibits, livestock judging, auctions, truck and tractor pulls, demolition derbies, pig races, crafts, live entertainment and plenty of food, attend the Harford County Farm Fair today through Sunday at the Equestrian Center, 608 N. Tollgate Road in Bel Air. There's free shuttle bus service from Fallston Middle/High School, Route 152 and Carrs Mill Road; bypass parking lot, Route 1 (Bel Air Bypass) near Route 24; and Bel Air Auto Auction, Business Route 1, tomorrow-Sunday only. 'Water Shorts!'

Don't get wet when Fluid Movement, a water ballet troupe, makes a big splash at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow and 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Patterson Park Pool, off Linwood Avenue, between Eastern Avenue and Baltimore Street. Dressed in custom-designed costumes, the synchronized swimming group -- made up of neighborhood children, artists, actors, sailors and professionals -- performs to original music around an oversized floating lily pad. "Water Shorts!" also features a concession garden set in a faux floral environment. The family event is sponsored by the Friends of Patterson Park, Fells Point Creative Alliance and the Baltimore Bureau of Parks and Recreation. Admission is $3. Call 410-276-3676.

Collin Raye, Lyle Lovett at Pier Six

When country hit-maker Collin Raye steps on the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Pier Six Concert Pavilion, expect to hear songs from his newest album, "The Walls Came Down," and earlier tunes such as "I Think About You" and "Little Red Rodeo." Also scheduled to appear is Kathy Mattea. Reserved seats are $31; lawn seating is $21.50. For more country, along with a tinge of blues, return to Pier Six at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and listen to Lyle Lovett (pictured) and His Large Band. Pavilion seats are $34, and the lawn is $21.50. 'Exquisite Trash'

Join imaginative pack rats and discerning trash-diggers at shrine-making workshops with Mr. Shrine tomorrow and Saturday at the American Visionary Art Museum, 800 Key Highway. The programs are part of a series on "Exquisite Trash." The workshops include "Sangria and Shrining" at 7 p.m. tomorrow; "Spirit Boxes for Children and Adults," 10 a.m. Saturday; and "Urban Shrine/Shrine Anything" at 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10. Coast Guard Yard is 100

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore -- the Coast Guard's only shipbuilding and repair facility -- with a concert by the United States Coast Guard Band at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Yard's parade grounds, 2401 Hawkins Point Road (take Exit 1 off I-695). The program includes classical music, military marches and a tribute to George and Ira Gershwin. The band's Dixieland Jazz Ensemble, the "Masters of Swing Music," also performs.
