The sparks will fly

Spend Saturday afternoon with Bart Simpson, man. He'll be at Oregon Ridge Park at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's "Family Fun and Fireworks" event. Visitors will hear a concert of music from such movies as "Jurassic Park" and "Mulan," led by conductor Daniel Hege. Children can play games, create their own musical instruments and join a parade, led by Bart Simpson, around the park and stage. A caricaturist will be on hard to custom-draw kids with their favorite Disney character. Fireworks will round out the evening.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday for games and activities. Concert begins at 8 p.m. Oregon Ridge Park is located off Beaver Dam Road in Cockeysville. Rain date is Sunday. Admission $14; $13 in advance; $7 children under 12. Caricatures $10. Free shuttle runs from the Bell Atlantic lot across from Hunt Valley Mall. Call 410-783-8000.

Hamilton Street Festival

They'll be dancing in the street Saturday at the annual Hamilton Street Festival. Visitors will enjoy live music on two stages, with Zim Zemarel and No Pets For Noah. They can also meet elected officials; browse crafts; peruse more than 100 tables of vendors and organizations, including the Baltimore City Fire and Police departments; play games; and try lots of foods. Kids can play in the moonwalk, meet clowns and watch a Scales and Tales animal show.

The Hamilton Street Festival takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday from the 5400 block to the 5500 block of Harford Road in Hamilton. Free. Call 410-254-2323.
