Tidbits: Beloved PB&J in mobile units

PB&J goes on the road. Just in time for summer travel, Smucker's has come out with a nonrefrigerated snack, containing peanut butter, grape or strawberry fruit spread, and eight crackers, that can stave off little ones' hunger pains while you're on the road -- or anywhere. A free brochure also is available with puzzles, mazes and games for the kids by calling 888-550-9555.

Krispy Kreme takes Glen Burnie

Get ready for "Hot Doughnuts Now" in Glen Burnie. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts of Maryland is planning to open its third store in September at 6604 Ritchie Highway. The stores are known for neon signs that let customers know when hot doughnuts are available. Krispy Kreme already has locations in Baltimore and Timonium.

Easing stress in entertaining

Giving a dinner party doesn't have to be stressful. In a new book, "The Dinner Party Cookbook: Menus, Recipes and Decorating Ideas for 21 Theme Parties" (Meadowbrook Press), author Karen Brown suggests: "You can't go wrong with chocolate. It makes a wonderful garnish for any dessert," and "Use oil-based spreads or dipping sauces for breads. They are a sensational and surprisingly simple food trend."
