Summer job fair set Wednesday at North Point armory

NORTH POINT -- A summer job fair co-sponsored by Eastern Baltimore Chamber of Commerce will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the National Guard Armory, 2101 North Point Blvd.

Other sponsors include Maryland Job Service and the Baltimore County Employment and Training Office.

Catonsville course to teach fiber optic cable installation

CATONSVILLE -- A new course designed to teach how to install fiber optic cable will be offered this fall at the Catonsville campus of the Community College of Baltimore County.

Students who pass the course will be certified by the Fiber Optic Association for jobs in the growing telecommunications market.

Fire ambulance stolen while crew in hospital

A Fire Department ambulance, whose engine had been left running, was stolen late last night while its crew was delivering a patient to the emergency room at Church Hospital,police said.

The crew arrived at the hospital about 11: 30 p.m. and when the crew left the facility about 12: 15 a.m., it discovered the ambulance was gone.
