Angels update Angels statistics

The Angels come in having lost seven straight and are a season-worst 12 1/2 games out of first place. They have yet to win more than four consecutive games and their offense ranks last in the league in runs scored, 12th in average and 13th in slugging percentage. They have stolen only 34 bases in 61 attempts, and their 10 shutout losses are twice as many as any other AL club. Manager Terry Collins has employed three cleanup hitters for at least 14 games and tried 13 different names in the Nos. 6 and 7 spots. Collins counts 10 players on the disabled list, but one of them, McDowell, is returning to start tonight. He has been sidelined since last September because of shoulder and elbow problems. The teams have split six meetings this season, each winning two of three at the other's park. None of the games has been decided by more than three runs, with the teams tied at a combined 23-23.
