Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Western District

Shooting: A gunman shot a man, 26, in the groin about 11: 50 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of N. Carey St. and ran. The victim was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Northwestern District

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the Giant Food store in the 5900 block of Reisterstown Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 5 p.m. yesterday.

Southern District

Theft from vehicle: An automobile anti-theft device was stolen Tuesday from a car parked in the 1100 block of Covington St. The device had been left on a seat.

Burglary: Gold jewelry, a stereo turntable, videocassette recorder, white leather jacket and a lawn mower, all valued at more than $1,800, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 3800 block of S. Victor St.

Eastern District

Assault: A woman with a knife cut another woman and the victim's mother, 40, who was trying to break up a fight between them Tuesday night in the 600 block of E. Chase St. Both victims were treated at Church Hospital. A 19-year-old woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Rape: A girl, 16, was in the bathroom at a relative's house in the 1300 block of N. Central Ave. on Monday evening when a man who lives next door entered the room, pushed her against the door and raped her. The man, 40 to 50, was being sought. The girl was treated at Mercy Medical Center.

Burglary/arrests: Two men were arrested Tuesday and charged with entering a house in the 1800 block of N. Wolfe St. and stealing floor tile, an air conditioner and a chandelier, all valued at more than a $1,000. A witness saw them carry the items into a house in the 1800 block of N. Chapel St. and called police. Samuel Jones, 36, and Maurice Jackson, 29, both of the Chapel Street address, were charged with burglary.

Southwestern District

Rape: A man knocked a woman to the ground, raped her and robbed her of $3 about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of S. Smallwood St.

Assault: Two men were arguing in the 2600 block of Lehman St. about 8 p.m. Tuesday when one struck the other in the head several times with a cane. The victim was treated for injuries at St. Agnes HealthCare, and the other man was being sought.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: Someone removed a bedroom window screen, entered a house in the first block of W. Midland Road and stole a 13-inch television overnight Monday.

Robbery: After a resident of the first block of Norham Court allowed a man into his apartment to use the telephone about 1: 20 p.m. Tuesday, the visitor pulled a handgun and robbed him of $25.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Someone entered Rothwell's Grille, a restaurant in the 100 block of W. Padonia Drive, through a door early Tuesday and stole more than $1,000 from an office.
