July 18, 1999|By Sloane Brown

Participants and party dresses sparkled at the Grand Line Reception for the Grand Officers of Maryland, Order of the Eastern Star. As members arrived at Michael's Eighth Avenue, Glen Burnie, they went through a receiving line to meet their new leaders, then were seated by ladies in gowns of deep purple or white.

The glittering standouts in line included Worthy Grand Matron Bonnie Wagner, pretty in pink sequins; Worthy Grand Patron Raymond G. Trott, in a white dinner jacket; Associate Grand Matron Audrey Ditch, shimmering in pale purple; Grand Conductress Jane Doll, in a violet lace confection; and Grand Lecturer Rita B. Clauss, in a brilliant blue-green gown.

Others among the 363 folks at the event included Associate Grand Conductress Kay Daniels; Grand Electa Juanita Tyree; Associate Grand Patron Kevin Hribar; reception chair Susan Famini, co-chair Clara Sykes; and committee members Patricia Trott, Isabelle Beagle, Pearl Johnson and Jean Lentz.
