Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County.

Ellicott City-Elkridge

Ellicott City: An intruder broke in through a window at an apartment in the 8700 block of Town & Country Blvd. on Tuesday and cut himself. Nothing appeared to have been taken from the apartment.

East Columbia

Owen Brown: An intruder entered the office of Dasher Green Pool in the 6800 block of Cradlerock Way on Friday, ransacked the room and stole a radio and a metal cash box containing $6.

Oakland Mills: Someone entered the ITE Auto Service parking lot in the 7100 block of Oakland Mills Road on July 1, vandalized two cars and tried to steal another. A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.

West Columbia

Harper's Choice: A house in the 5900 block of Harpers Farm Road was entered Saturday and keys to a rental car were stolen. Two men were arrested and charged with breaking and entering.

North Laurel-Savage

Savage: A woman was walking toward a bank Friday in the 8600 block of Washington Blvd. when a man tried to grab a money bag she was carrying. The woman hit him with the bag, and he fled.

Savage: A man approached a clerk at a store in the 9000 block of Baltimore St. on July 1, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register and safe. He took $481 and fled on foot.
