Blue Jays update

Toronto probably can't wait to get back into the Orioles' bullpen, which absorbed all three losses in the Blue Jays' sweep last week at SkyDome. Two of the games went 10 innings. Former Oriole Willie Greene went 5-for-6 with a homer and three RBIs. Shortstop Tony Batista was 6-for-11 with four RBIs. The Blue Jays have won two straight to reach .500. They'll tumble below that if they don't im- prove on a 13-23 road record. They must like their chances in this series, having won eight of nine games against the Orioles this season, including two at Camden Yards in April. In two starts, Ponson has allowed nine runs (eight earned) and 10 hits in just 7 2/3 innings. It's been a slow torture. He's needed 158 pitches to get that far. (Blue Jays statistics, 6C)
