Back to nature

Gather 'round the campfire at Rocks State Park tomorrow night and hear tales and truths about the mystery of bees. Each Friday through the summer, the park offers "Summer Campfire Programs" with lessons, learning and fun. Tomorrow's program presents professional beekeeper Jim Zinch showing bees and discussing the process of beekeeping and how bees make honey. The program is followed by marshmallow-roasting around the campfire.

The campfire program begins at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Rock Ridge Amphitheater at Rocks State Park, off Route 24 at St. Clair Bridge Road in Jarrettsville. Free. Call 410-557-7994.

Puppets and comedy

Bring the kids downtown for two fun and educational shows today and Tuesday at NationsBank Plaza. Free performances take place every week through July, as part of the Kids' Stuff entertainment series, presented by Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke.

Today, Blue Sky Puppet Theatre presents "Pig Tales," a story of three free-spirited young pigs on their day at camp. Tuesday, General Foolishness (aka Paul Hadfield) presents his juggling and comedy act with a military theme.

The puppet show will be held at 10: 30 a.m. today and the juggling show at 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday at NationsBank Plaza, 34 Market Place. Free. Call 410-837-4636.
